What Are Odd Eyes?

Odd-eyed cats have two different colored eyes — usually, one brilliant blue and the other gold, green, or copper. This trait, called heterochromia, is purely cosmetic and does not typically affect the cat’s vision or health.

What Are Dominant Blue Eyes?

Dominant blue eyes are a completely different genetic trait. In this case, a kitten has both eyes a strong, rich blue, and they stay blue permanently into adulthood — even if the kitten is not a pointed or white Sphynx.

Dominant blue eyes are caused by a specific gene that overrides the normal eye color development. This makes it possible for even darker-coated kittens to have striking blue eyes!
